Buberry Community Science Initiative

Welcome to the Buberry Community Science Initiative, where we’re working to create sustainable food systems through regenerative agroforestry and community-based resource management.

At a time when our global food systems are facing significant challenges, such as climate change, soil degradation, and loss of biodiversity, it’s more important than ever to adopt practices that support the long-term health of the environment and the communities that depend on it.

Interactive Resource Management

Through the use of the Ushahidi platform, we’re able to gather valuable information on tree health, harvest and fruiting time, as well as the different varieties and their respective locations. Additionally, the platform allows us to address service requests in real-time, creating a responsive network for people to have access to where help is needed. Furthermore, we are able to create maps of community spaces such as urban gardens, farmers markets, and workshops to facilitate better access to the products of the regenerative agroforestry system.

Our focus is on finding and utilizing under-utilized and undervalued resources like native food plants and resilient crops. By doing so, we can build soil health, enhance biodiversity, and mitigate climate change, while also providing food, fiber, and other resources for local communities.

Participate in Community Science

We’re calling on people like you to participate in our mission to create sustainable food systems through regenerative agroforestry and community-based resource management. By joining our community science initiative, you’ll gain valuable skills and knowledge needed to design, implement, and manage regenerative agroforestry systems. And you’ll be joining a community of learners who are committed to creating a better world through sustainable agriculture.
